Better Than Ezra, Vertical Horizon and Big Head Todd & The Monsters will be the headlining main stage acts for the three nights of Naperville’s Last Fling.
The Naperville Jaycees’ annual end-of-summer festival is scheduled for Aug. 30-Sept. 2 along the Naperville Riverwalk.
The goal this year, entertainment Co-Chair Danielle Tufano said, was to create an event that felt more like a “music festival.”
“We decided to open the Main Stage gates earlier than most previous years to give patrons the opportunity to enjoy music throughout the day and allow them to come and go as they please,” Tufano said in a news release announcing the Main Stage and Jackson Avenue Block Party Stage acts.
Headlining opening night Friday, Aug. 30, is Better Than Ezra, the alternative rock band best known for its hit 1995 single “Good.” Opening for them will be Chicago-based 7th Heaven.
On Saturday, Aug. 31, the headlining band will be Vertical Horizon, which scored a alternative rock hit with “Everything You Want” in 1999. Opening acts are Take the Reins, The Righ Now and 97Nine.
The final night of main stage music on Sunday, Sept. 1, will be topped by Big Head Todd & The Monsters, whose hit songs include “Bittersweet,” “It’s Alright” and “Please Don’t Tell Her.” Opening for them are Tres Moustache, The Ron Burgundy’s and 16 Candles.
The Jackson Avenue Block Party Stage will feature four days of live music. Here’s the lineup:
Aug. 30: Indigo, Libido Funk Circus and Hi Infidelity.
Aug. 31: Double Identity, OMT, ALT 101, and tribute bands The Hair Band Night and The Boy Band Night.
Sept. 1: AD3 Acoustic Trio, Billy Martin Band, Gregory Hyde Band, Hello Weekend and Wedding Banned.
Sept. 2: The Run Around, Strung Out, The Hat Guys and Kashmir, a Led Zeppelin cover band.
