Speak Out: Time to outlaw cigarettes completely; Melania needs to control 'bully' husband, OK pot and then what?

In this Dec. 23, 1973, photo, cars wait in line from two directions at a gas station in New York City. Gas shortages were created when the Organizations of Petroleum Exporting Countries, of OPEC, restricted oil supplies, ushering in the demand for smaller cars that used less gas.

Trump wants extended term: Trump’s retweeting that he should get two more years in his presidency citing the Mueller investigation took two years away from his presidency. The real strange twist is we’d better look out the way. The GOP is acting, he may just get what he wants.

Narcissist Trump: Donald Trump could actually be a very good president, but he’s such a narcissist, so vindictive and spoiled that he can’t. If you don’t like him, he’s vindictive toward you. He only likes people who like him. People know they can get him to do dumb stuff or convince him to bid for them. All they have to do is say something that he wants to hear. He can’t be a good president. He can only be a useful idiot.

Why the big rush? I want someone to explain to me why marijuana was illegal not so long ago, but now, all of a sudden, it’s God’s gift to everybody. Why? Do you people want your kids on this stuff? Do you want them running around half high driving, riding a motorcycle or walking on the street? Has Illinois and the United States gone mad?

Impossible to control: President Trump is learning that illegal immigration is too big to stop. It’s been going on too long. It’s a well-planned network. Something in the future will happen that will take the appeal away from coming to this country. And that something will affect us all.

A message to Moylan: I’d like to send a message to (state Rep.) Marty Moylan, the Democrat against marijuana. I’d like to tell Marty to catch up with the times. I’m almost 70 years old. I smoked marijuana when I was 16 years old. I don’t smoke it anymore. I have friends who still smoke marijuana every day. They are not hooked on LSD or heroin. It’s like alcohol, just better.

No more negative comments: No more negative remarks about our firefighters. Hopefully, they and the paramedics will never have to make a call to your home. They are my heroes protecting serving our city day and night. Pray for their safety.

Where does it end? It’s amazing the states that have legalized recreational marijuana and all the traffic accidents that have skyrocketed in these states due to drug abuse. Now Colorado wants to legalize (psychedelic) mushrooms too. Why don’t you start snorting coke in public? What the heck.

Pot changes people: I hope that marijuana bill doesn’t pass. All the young people are going to get high; they’re going to drink. How many people will be killed? I hope it doesn’t happen. Marijuana changes people. It changes their personality. I don’t care what people say. I’ve seen it myself.

Melania’s bullying campaign: I would like to say one thing to Melania Trump. If your platform is anti-bullying, please stop being a hypocrite. Do something about your damn husband.

Outlaw cigarettes: This is about raising the taxes to keep kids from buying cigarette. That ain’t going to help. The best way for kids not to get cigarettes is to take the cigarettes and tobacco off the shelves and off the market completely, outlaw it.

Good old days: Recall in 1973 when the oil conglomerates used the big fossil fuel lie to raise gasoline prices from 37 cents to 70 cents a gallon and the introduction of compact cars? I bought a new Mazda off the showroom floor for $3,700. The streets were filled with Datsuns, later Nissan, (Ford) Pintos and (Chevy) Vegas. What a time to stretch a buck.
