The SEED Board of Directors picks the award winners looking for businesses and organizations that made significant contributions to South Elgin’s business community.

Orangetheory Fitness, 454 Redington Drive, is part of the Orangetheory fitness studio chain that has more than 1,000 locations in 22 countries. Falk said in a news release. The store earned the award for its unique approach to physical fitness as well as its popularity on social media, he said.

“Orangetheory quickly rose to the top” when people were asked via social media what the top businesses were in South Elgin, Falk said in the release.

Honest-1 Auto Care, 660 N. LaFox St., opened last year. Falk said the auto body shop is an example of kind of businesses that can help revitalize that stretch of LaFox/Route 31.

“Honest-1 is a great example of how minor upgrades can change the entire look of a property and help make a business successful,” he said.

Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois, 353 Randall Road, received the Chairman’s Award, which recognizes an outstanding organization working within South Elgin. Falk noted the Girls Scouts group will directly impact the local business community by turning its members into “strong, selfless and community-minded” residents.

“Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois is building future leaders,” Falk said in the release.
