Speak Out: Trump

Speak Out commenters give views on President Donald Trump. Trump waves as he boards Air Force One for a four-day state visit to Japan, Friday, May 24, 2019, at Andrews Air Force Base, Md.

I recently read an article titled, “High stakes in this showdown.” The Democrats say we are at a constitutional crisis. There is no crisis. The problem: Democrats can’t get over the fact that President Donald Trump won the election over a subpar candidate. They are going to keep digging and digging until they think they are going to find something. Who cares what Trump made financially before he was elected president? It’s nobody’s business. Democrats just don’t know when to quit.

I wonder what President Donald Trump does beside tweet in the morning for three or four hours and then fly out to rallies all over the country. . . He’s supposed to be running the county. Actually, with the way he is running the country, we are better when he is off from work. . . It just doesn’t make sense how the Republican Party stands behind Trump.

I love the fact that President Donald Trump keeps focusing all of his attention on Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. People have short memories or don’t realize that every single poll back in mid-2016 showed that the only person Trump could beat was then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Then-Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was leading over Trump in every single poll from Rasmussen Reports to the Pew Research Center, from 6 to 10 points. As long as Trump keeps focusing on Biden, that leaves Sanders or any other progressive free and clear to beat Trump a year from November in the election.
