Speak Out: Gas prices, political writers

A Speak Out commenter gives a view on gas prices. This April 23, 2019 photo shows gas prices displayed at a Shell gasoline station in Sacramento, Calif.

Gasoline prices are steadily increasing. In my neck of the woods, the recent price was $3.29 a gallon. It was stated that the reason for the increase was because more people drive during the summer . . . No matter what the reason may be, oil executives are going to find a way to bring in more revenue for themselves. Now, our lawmakers are talking about raising taxes on gas to pay for infrastructure, which is desperately needed. So the bottom line is they have got you coming and going.

Thank you to the person who found my husband's credit card. We were at a local Redbox and by the time we returned home, we received an email from Discover saying it was reported as lost/stolen. My husband had no idea he dropped it. Thank you very much for doing the right thing. We appreciate it. There are good people in this world.

To the writer who wonders what writers like Dana Milbank and others who criticize President Donald Trump will write about if he is no longer in office, the answer is quite simple: They will continue writing and talking about politics the same as they did before Trump. That is what they do no matter who is president. They write and report on politics.
