Speak out: Economy only going good for the rich

Good economy for the rich: I’d like to say for those who say the economy is doing good to raise their hand. The economy is doing good for the rich. As a middle-class person, have the tax cuts helped them out? See what the answer will be. I’m a middle-class person, and I’m not making more money. I can tell you this, a lot of my friends are working two jobs to get by. There may be more jobs out here, but they aren’t paying squat.

Democratic clowns: I’m sorry I feel like this, but I can’t help but think when the time comes for the presidential debates for the Democrat hopefuls, a little car is going to drive up in the center ring and 28 clowns are going to tumble out.

Alcohol worse than pot: People are talking about how bad pot is and there’s this big debate. Let me tell you, alcohol is much worse. Look at how many drunk drivers kill other people and themselves. Look at the rate of people who drink lose their lives to heart disease, liver disease, pancreatic disease. Come on, pot haters. Pot has been around for a long, long time. People have been smoking for a long, long time. Now, you don’t want it legalized. What you should do, then, is close all the liquor stores.

Calling police for spats: I have two neighbors who, every time have a little domestic abuse, nothing violent, they call the police on their spouse. It becomes ridiculous when a half-dozen police vehicles arrive for nothing. If these people had common sense, they would be ashamed of themselves.

Trump acting suspiciously: Our president is trying to prove his innocence of any crimes. It’s making a lot of people more suspicious of him committing crimes and high treason against our country. Just let these things go. He’s blocking people from testifying. We know he won’t tell the truth. He lies to us every day. He’s been caught in so many lies. If I’m not guilty of anything, I’m going to let it all hang out there.

Not why they fought: I wish all the dead, maimed and missing Americans from the Korean and Vietnam wars could realize what they fought against has formed in the United States. How many new aldermen in Chicago represent the Democrat Socialist Party?

Lawlessness in D.C.: We have the biggest liar in (the president’s) office. We know he’s dirty. His base doesn’t even care that America is failing and falling. We’re in a place we should never be in. It looks like we’re trying to start a war with Iran because the president doesn’t like Iran. We can alienate our allies. Putin could become our leader, so we have to learn how to speak Russian. We’re in a very dark place. This is the First Family of thugs. They run the country like the Mafia. The president is lawless. He puts in place lawless people.

Immigration deception: President Trump has not had the cooperation from either political party on stemming illegal immigration. At least he has brought the crime to the surface and has shown who supports illegal immigration and has done so from its beginning. We have learned our elected officials do their best work deceiving the American people.

Don’t be a hypocrite: This is for all the Bible-hugging hypocrites. You want to take away all the women’s rights to do what they want to do with their bodies. This is all men wanting to do this. You don’t want abortions. But once it comes out of the womb, you toss the Bible out the window. You don’t want to help any one of these kids. If one of them kills someone, you want to give them the death penalty. I don’t understand. You call yourself pro-life but you don’t mind giving the death penalty to someone. That’s not pro-life to me.

Right on, Kelly: I agree with Kelly Ripa about “The Bachelorette.” I’m a feminist. My wife watches “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.” I have said the same thing (as Kelly). “The Bachelor” spits woman back. To me, it’s an exploitation of women and that’s why I’m not interested at all. I don’t care who watches it. I’m just saying I agree with Kelly Ripa that it sends a bad message to women.

Deterioration of Masonic Temple a pattern: Masonic Temple has been falling down for a dozen years. Yet, it’s funny to read those hilarious pleas from those preservationists lamenting the death of a wonderful building. While these people are famous whiners, their pleading has validity. For 40 years, Aurora has employed highly paid officials who are supposed to find users for these places. Under their watch, due to failure, the Kresge building, old West High, Burlington Station, and many other relics have been destroyed. These public servants have proven to be long in wind and incompetence and short on results. They can now add Masonic Temple to their list.

Equal justice needed: I see an African American man in DuPage county just got six years for his fourth DUI. As far as I’m concerned everyone should get six years for a fourth DUI, but I also just read about a white lady with her fifth DUI. On her fourth DUI, she actually pulled out a sawed-off shotgun on the arresting officer. Guess what? She didn’t do any jail time. What’s wrong with that picture? It gives you an idea what happens to black and white people for doing the same crime. On another note, if that was a black man he probably never would have went to jail, he would have gone to the morgue.

Racists feel empowered: I was watching the news about the black kid going to college in Boulder, Colo., and how the cops treated him. The cops said they noticed him sitting on the patio. They drew guns on him and wouldn’t believe who he was until, guess what, a white lady said he lived there. The president of the United States is personally responsible for a lot of this rhetoric going on right now. He sends the wrong message to America. Being a black man, I grew up in the South. I have a lot of reasons to hate, but it’s not in my heart to hate. I was raised in a Christian family. I was taught not to hate no matter what a person does. I don’t like people who do other people harm or do wrong, but I don’t hate people. The president empowers racist people.
