The deadline for submitting a grant application is June 20.

“City government alone cannot make lasting change in the community,” said Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin in the release. “Our non-profit organizations are on the front lines and know first-hand what our residents need. Quality of Life Grants can assist with their respective missions while making Aurora stronger as a whole.”

For the current year, 29 local agencies received Quality of Life grants, including the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry, the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry, the Northern Illinois Food Bank, the Marie Wilkinson Child Development Center, the Association for Individual Development, Boys Baseball of Aurora, CASA Kane County, Communities in Schools of Aurora, Simply Destinee Dance Team, World Relief and museums in downtown Aurora – the Aurora Historical Society Museum, SciTech and the Aurora Regional Fire Museum.
