Can the Bears beat the Raiders in London? Our writers make their Week 5 picks.

The Bears (3-1) are coming off their most impressive victory of the season, a 16-6 win over the NFC rival Vikings at Soldier Field. Now they venture across the pond to take on the Raiders (2-2) in London. Quarterback Chase Daniel will make his third start in two years in place of the injured Mitch Trubisky. Can the defense keep the momentum going and send the Bears into their open date with a fourth straight win?

The Bears are dealing with some injuries, but as they showed last week against the Vikings, they have depth and can handle a good team. The Raiders are fortunate to be 2-2, coming off an upset victory over the Colts in Indianapolis. They are running the ball well with rookie Josh Jacobs, but that figures to be difficult against a Bears front that stuffed Vikings running back Dalvin Cook. Chase Daniel is more than prepared to run the Bears offense efficiently, even if big plays have been few and far between.

Record: 2-2

The Bears have scored only one touchdown in three of four games. Conditions won't be ideal Sunday to suddenly explode. Chase Daniel was efficient and in rhythm against the Vikings, but the downfield passing game remains stalled. The weather in London is supposed to be rainy and windy. In the Bears' favor, at least, is the Raiders' inept pass rush (31st in the league in sack rate). If they only had an All-Pro edge rusher ...

Record: 2-2

The Bears overcame a lot last week to stop the Vikings, including unexpectedly losing inside linebacker Roquan Smith and quarterback Mitch Trubisky. They have just as many challenges this week as they start backup quarterback Chase Daniel in a game abroad. But if Daniel can play efficiently and limit his mistakes as he did last week, the Bears should be fine. The Bears defense has been incredible, and Khalil Mack has the extra motivation of facing his former team. That should be something to see.

Record: 3-1

With the decision to travel to London late in the week, the Bears will have to push through their jet lag and adjust quickly to be in top form. And the degree of difficulty for Sunday's game only increases with Chase Daniel starting in place of injured quarterback Mitch Trubisky. Still, the Bears are the more complete team from top to bottom and have shown the requisite focus and resolve the last two seasons to handle themselves well.

Record: 2-2
