A 22-year-old man was shot multiple times while he was sitting on a porch Wednesday afternoon in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 1 p.m., the victim was sitting on a porch in the 6000 block of South Talman Avenue when someone approached and pulled out a handgun. The person began firing in his direction, hitting the victim in the right thigh, right foot, and twice in the upper back, police said.
The victim was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
Earlier Wednesday, a man was shot in the left side of his head about 10:45 a.m. in the 4800 block of Talman Avenue, near the Austin neighborhood border, police said.
Preliminary reports said the man was outside when he heard shots, then felt pain. He was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
